Cardinal District offers several in-person adult leader trainings. BALOO, or Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation, is offered for Cub Scout leaders on a yearly basis. All Packs must have at least one BALOO-trained leader on all overnight events. IOLS, or Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills, is offered for Scouts BSA and Venturing leaders on a yearly basis. IOLS is a required component for Scouts BSA and Venturing leaders to be considered fully trained. In addition, in-person position-specific training is offered semi-annually as an alternative to online position-specific training.
