2023 Cardinal District Camporee / Cuboree

Howdy Scouters,

The Cardinal District Camporee / Cuboree is only two short months away (March 24 – 26).  We’d like to invite you to participate in this fun-filled weekend of fellowship with other Cowboys and Cowgirls, er, I mean, Scouts and Scouters.  The theme of the event is The Old West and is open to Scouts BSA, Cub Scouts and Venture Scouts.  Of course, scout-appropriate Western attire is encouraged to be worn by all attendees!

We’re excited to take Scouts back in time to experience the western frontier with cooking and blacksmithing demonstrations, games, crafts, competitions and plenty of shooting sports activities for all ages.  Scouts who are 14 years or older can participate in Cowboy Action Shooting where they will get to shoot a lever action rifle, a coach gun shotgun and a revolver pistol.  The Netami and Ilau Machque Chapters will be selling root beer, floats, hard candy, and other snacks at the Old West Trading Post.  Following an afternoon of activities, Cowboys and Cowgirls can partake in a Chuckwagon Dinner.

Registration details and costs can be found on the Council Calendar. Of course, Camporees are always a success when units step up and host a station.

If you have an idea for a station or have any other questions, please reach out to the Camporee Leadership Team at [email protected].

Yours in Scouting,

Rich Cravener
