2020 Crosswinds District Awards Nominations

The Crosswinds District Recognition Event will be held during the February Roundtable on Thursday, February 18, 2021. This is our opportunity to recognize those adult volunteers who have made Scouting a success in our district this past year. In order for this event to be successful, we will need help from all of you!

Each unit should nominate one or more adults in their unit who have provided exceptional service to their unit the overall Scouting program for a 2020 Distinguished Leadership Citation (DLC). A link to the nomination form is below. Once all of the nominations have been evaluated by the district selection committee, you will be notified as to which of your nominees will be awarded a DLC. We hope to recognize the recipients during the virtual recognition event in February.

Give careful consideration to individuals who should be nominated for the District Award of Merit (DAOM). This is the highest award a district can award to a Scouter and is available to those who render sustained service of an outstanding nature at the district or Venturing division level. A link to the nomination form is below.

We will also be recognizing those adult volunteers in Crosswinds District who are receiving special service awards from Occoneechee Council, such as ¡Scouting … Vale La Pena! Service Award, Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award, and Asian American Spirit of Scouting Service Award. If you know of a deserving recipient for a special service award, please get the nomination to the council advancement committee as soon as possible.

We will be accepting nomination forms for DLC and DAOM starting now, through the January 21, 2021 Roundtable meeting. Please send completed nomination forms to [email protected].

No nominations will be accepted after that January 2021 Roundtable. Please get your nominations in as soon as possible – no need to wait until the last minute!

Thank you, Neil Smith, Program Chair, Crosswinds District
